its here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im back, alive, and by god Im a new man!!
That was without question, the best blast Ive ever had! I was at the PC about to update everyone with another whinging "its not here yet" post when an unmistakable thunderous roar reverberated up from the beach end of the street... and then, it arrived!! What a sound!! What a car
Ive updated my profile with a shot I snapped on Fridays test drive, more coming soon
Part of me cant believe I have my first car. The other part cant believe theres a TVR(!!) parked outside that belongs to me!
and the other part of me still cant believe I made dave reach for the "holy sh*t handle"
My mate Dave tried to grab it, and discovered there wasn't one (that I recall) when I dropped and held the hammer to the mat, long enought for both of us to get brownstains that only aerial tablets with quick wash action could remove.
It was a quiet, wide, open and empty road. Everything happened in speeded-up slow-mo, dave's mouth fell open wide enough for him to swallow the dash (I think he did, but spat it out again) and that was enough power to leave both of us... grinning
Not going to do that again for a long while. Im not ready, and speed was not why I bought the car. I intend to evolve my sensible head, anything less would not be fair on other road users. Out of space, more in another post...

So-the car! First I started her up, made it to the top of the hill and stalled. Trying to restart, I set off the imobiliser, the alarm (twice) and it took me 30 seconds to get going again. Despite being 6'3 (in boots) I managed to put the seat far back enough to give me a proper(!!) spasm in my leg whist trying to work the clutch rendering me unable to drive, stalled in the middle of the road again, but in less than a minute, with GF passenger, was on my way again.
No one prepared me for quite how much attention the V8S got!!! It was probably the sound, crusing through town in second
2/3 people turned round to stare. The third of the folks that didnt turn round, didnt because... they were alreay walking backwards, watching
Must be my bad driving
WOW,
again
Im not the poser type, but Im very happy!! The sound of the V8 is simply awesome!! Finding third was tricky at first, but down to me not being a regular driver Im sure. The power is just insane!!
Still cant believe I floored it properly on my first day (at night) not planning on doing it again (dont feel the need) for a while yet. And loving that sound track more than life itself. Tuition (back to basics) is on the cards, and so is a (free invite coz im special
) days track tuition with a former BTTC.

Looks a nice motor, look forward to seeign it and the rest at S Club Heaven 2 in August!
By the way they are not Chimaera wheels!
Mike
No, they look like OZ Polaris alloys to me. Similar but at bit more "dished". Same make isn't it?
I'm a bit of a sad muppet aren't I, recognising a type of wheel, jeeze I must get out more!

...
swopped gf for dave for 5 minutes. We went round the block a couple of times, if you know what I mean
Girlfriend watched us for a while, and all three of us agreed I'd never made that much noise before
I did it again tonight (with my dad and sister...) ok this is getting a bit
Happy times! Dad lives in Canada, Sister up in newcastle (having been sentanced to 8 years of uni) and getting my first car and being able to take everyone for a ride (dont see em much
) was cool. Right, my wheels, can anyone say for sure exactly what they are, and could they invalidate my insurance, I told sunninghill they were chim alloys?
Looking forward to the S meet! Depending on cashflow (I hear stainless sports pipes compliment precat v8s's, adequately) I might have some upgrades to show
Taking the driving really easy, well impressed with the car and am glad I didn't go near a TVR when I was 18. Gonna look after her, just need to build a big ramp up to my bedroom window so i can take her to bed
Im in luuuurve! Pooke, lets get beered up sometime mate. August will be good for me!
Was she worth the wait?

Bob, I would definitely tell your insurance as yes it could invalidate it if you ever need to make a claim. Are they a bigger diameter than normal they look to be 16" or 17"??? I will probably only add a small amount if anything!
Mike
Hi Rob,
Nice to hear that you're enjoying the car so much ...and all your family too!
As Mike says, it's worth telling your insurance Co. about the wheels but if they say that your premiums will increase you could argue that they are cheaper to replace than the original wheels. I did the same thing earlier this week when I renewed my policy and they agreed to keep the premium the same. That was with Classic Line.
Also, it can invalidate your insurance if you don't tell them! Stupid I know as the wheels may have absolutely nothing to do with an accident that you may have but any excuse to avoid paying out eh!
Take it easy.

Very good point, as if your Insurance company try to source the original S Series wheels they will have to go to someone like BellHill Garage over in Bristol and they told me they charge Insurance companies £400 per wheel! As they know they are rare!
Later

Right, will do asap, but what kind of wheels do I have?
Rod (previous owner) says they are definitely off a chim, according to adrian blythe whom it bought it from, and they are:
Wheels, 205 x 55 x 15
Wheels, 225 x 45 x 16
Should I just call sunninghill and give them the wheel specs, I dunno for sure wheels they are or car they are from?

. A couple of months down the line you will find you are confident enough, but beware it'll probably bite twice as hard then
