If you've booked for some track time and fancy being in a Cerb photo as we hurtle up the pit straight, please see this thread:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/xforums/topic.asp?h=0...

It's nothing official, just a case of planning to try and stay in a group for the first stage out on track. smile

Parade lap rofl

one of my finest memories was exiting the Mulsane and 'drifting' through Arnage at a hundred and stupid before lining up and burying the throttle on the approach to club pork.

A phenomenal experience. Upon exiting the track I was shaking and could hardly speak for an hour cloud9

I totally recommend Le Mans in a Cerb.

Or you could 'do a Gruffalo' and blatt down Mulsanne at 170odd mph, grinning at all the cars you where overtaking so rapidly, to suddenly realise that the ease of overtake was due to the fact that all the other cars where actually braking for the chicane that you had completely forgotten about, and somehow managed to straight line in a cloud of tyre smoke.

Beat me to it Fubar. I was in the car with him waving my arms at him to brake a a rate that I almost took off. His excuse was that he wasn't concentrating ( he was looking for the restaurant that we ate at the night before). I think that concentration would be uppermost on my mind if driving at that speed.

There was quite a strong smell emanating from the car afterwards, and it wasn't a rubber or brake smell. I'm guessing it was you hehe

The was a French registered Chim' in front of us that did just the same. Thought he's going in a bit hot, cue panic braking and some smokey parking in the middle of the chicane. No harm done though so all good fun! hehe

There should be a smiley for that somewhere.

wavey right back at you Fubar.

The smell may have been me but I was suctioned to the passenger seat like a limpet.

REX has offered to take photo's of us all, now just need to think of where to get him to stand, how about Arnage?

Would be great to have us all together at Arnage, but we would have to agree to stay together for the first lap and not let other cars get in the convoy which might be hard but do able

I think it could prove difficult, but once we have the money shot on the pit straight, all other photos are an added bonus aren't they. There is a lot of track between the pit straight and Arnage and I can't help thinking that staying as a Cerb group could be asking for trouble. Your concentration switches to trying to stay together rather than your driving - and we are sharing the track!! I will certainly need to have full concentration on my driving.

That first section - Pit Straight through to the Dunlop Bridge and then down the hill would also provide some fab shots and would also be distinctively 'Le Mans'. Plus, there is a fair chance that we will nearly all be together still at that point? nuts

(Do translate 'we'll all still be together' as I will probably have managed to keep up with the rest of you over that distance! laugh ).

I agree with the Dunlop Bridge bit being the signature Le Mans photo, he has offered to go where ever we think best which is nice of him.

Not sure I will be able to concentrate on the Mulsanne, I have a habit of getting distracted on that bitbiggrin

Plenty of time to think about where is best.

Yes I agree it will be difficult it keep together to Arnage, so lets concentrate on the pit straight and Dunlop bridge, my friend Johno has offered to take photos see other thread on Le Mans, might be and idea to have one taking photos down the pit straight and one near Dunlop bridge, I have not been to the classic before but I,am a member of the ACO club and I can get Johno in the ACO area near Dunlop bridge which is only open to ACO members when the 24 Hrs is, don,t know about the classic

Does anyone need a passenger to take photos whilst out on the track?

Due to a late change of plans I'm now off to the classic in the cerbera as opposed to the 24hrs. Needless to say I'm too late for the track time and TVR car park, but if anyone has space and needs some photos taken, let me know.
