West Highland Terrier Puppy Wanted
Discussion
Hi, does anybody know of any West Highland Terrier puppies for sale in the South London / Kent / Surrey areas ( female ) ? Dont really want to end up with a Welsh puppy farm dog, would prefer a home-reared pup. Any links to known reputable breeders or families in the south east welcomed!

Not being sarcastic, but why not go for the origonal Highland Terrier-a Cairn . No difference, except thet a Westie is white. Yo can even get off white Cairns (suspected source of the Westie) .And if you want to go down the Cairn route - try a look on here -

Where you might get a pup looking for a home or they might reccommend a breeder .My outlook is to give folks like this a donation to keep up the good work ,and get a dog that they've checked against the temperament of the breed .If you decide to go to a breeder ,my advice is to choose one that wants to make sure you're right for the dog .I'd be suspicious if they don't want to know that you'll give it a god home .
And whatever of the two breeds you choose -enjoy .But ,be aware , it's part of their nature to be argumentitive and headstrong . They are the true massive dog in a small dog's body .
They only give up out of love ,or death .
Last thing - these dogs live to a ripe old age( 10+ ,sometimes 16) . My Cairn is almost 11 and still runs like a 4 year old . Something else I'd suggest looking at . I'd hope I'll outlive him ( but then I'm 64) , but I know if both of us pass on ,some of the family will take him on .Failing that -CTRF will not let him down .
