On the road again with minor problems...
Discussion
Hi Folks,
After 1,5 year struggling the overhaul of my V8S engine is finally done. The engine is running very well and seems to be very fast
. I've done 800kms
now and still running in. I fitted a new Piper 270 110 Camshaft kit and also a Mark Adams Tornado chip. I also fitted a lightened flywheel. For the rest all the usual stuff. Very happy sofar.
I still have one annoying failure: The HAndbrake (P) and brake fluid (!) warning lights keep burning. The manual suggests that the brake fluid in the engine bay is below level. I checked it and it is OK. I also cleaned the contacts of the brake fluid cap and I checked the handbrake switch. They are all OK.
Has anybody experienced a similar failure or could it mean something else?? Any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance and I'm happy to be part of the driving S-es again!

I find that these lights come on when the handbrake switch has moved. It's a simple push button switch located under the handbrake gaiter. It's held in place by a screw but tends to slip down after a while
Ususally when I'm driving and gentle push down on the lever puts the lights out until I can get round to adjusting it.

If both lights are on, then it's not the brake fluid warning, which consists of the exclamation mark on its own without the P symbol (you should be able to replicate this by pressing the test button on the brake fluid reservoir lid, assuming the V8S setup is the same as the V6).
Colin's suggestion of the switch on the handbrake sounds like the best bet.
