Porsche Newb buying a boxster.

Hi guys, long time lurker 1st time poster. Ok heres the deal thinking of buying this...

Now I've had a checkered (to say the least) car history and wanted peoples opinion on

1. This specific car
2. Tiptronic, does it spoil the car? Now I quite like autos but never had a sports auto.
3. I'm aware of the general issues to look for but is there anything specific to the 986s (hope thats right) I need to check?

PS my checkered car history

THE GOOD...mk2 mr2 NA, Alfa gtv (loved that car), clk 320(a friday car), 156(current car)

THE BAD...Renault 9, mk2 golf (my bad that time was young and picked a wrongun), vw lupo.

THE UGLY...Jeep cherokee 4.0 with full stainless exhaust-damn loud and very uncool but let me walk away from a bad crash totally unharmed
