Supercars at Stafford Activity Centre??
Discussion
I live not far from seighford. Its crap.
I've sometimes parked up to watch the cars going around. It would be ok for free, but certainly wouldn't want to pay for the "experience".
Last time I was there, the "track" was just laid out with cones, but it might of changed since I last went.
I wouldn't expect to get to push the cars at all. You will probably be restricted and not get to "experience" much at all.
I really feel these experience days are very poor value for money. You get very little time driving the cars.
Better off renting a lambo for the day and taking it out somewhere nice.

if it's the same as a place in Staffs I went to it's a patch of old runway about 300m long by about 80m wide and you'd go round and round in 3rd gear. Pretty pony tbh.I've sometimes parked up to watch the cars going around. It would be ok for free, but certainly wouldn't want to pay for the "experience".

Yep. I cringe when I see people on their "driving experiences" there, knowing they have paid good money to drive on that crappy runway!!There is another runway just around the corner from that one that they used to use as well, but thats just as bad, and i think thats mainly used for HGV training now.
Cirvy - what date is your experience?

This is the picture off Google maps of the site they use:

Obviously this is a few years out of date and things have improved since then. If your interested Cirvy, I will have a drive up there later and snap a few pictures of how the site / runway is and you can make your mind up if you want to go, or cancel it and spend the money on something else!
For 50 quid, it would probably be worth a go, but i certainly would not pay a single penny more for any driving experience at driveme.
If your still unconvinced, here are some reviews from people who have done the experience's at driveme: http://www.qype.co.uk/place/223785-Drive-Me-Net-Se...

That doesnt sound great from the reviews does it.
We've not got a date yet & have booked it through Groupon, so have not paid a lot.
Must admit, i dont expect much from these outfits these days. Strangely, we've paid for this event with our refund following our rubbish Supercar Lifestyle Experience day, where we had to complain so much that Groupon gave us a full refund

Lets hope we dont get a re-run, although from some of those reviews, it aint looking too good

I've worked with alot of this country's driving experience companies, and most instructors tend to circulate between a few, if not all of the companies. Speaking to them, honestly, I've really not heard a lot of good things about drive me (although, i've not been there myself). The general consensus is Palmersport is the best (albeit pricey, and more of a racing experience) and then everymanracing/driversdreamdays and sixth gear experience, give one of the latter two a go maybe?

As long as you and your work mates go in with rock bottom expectations, then it might not be so bad. However, maybe the money would be better spent on a days go karting, then a few beers back at the pub? I personally would much prefer that, rather than 2-3 mins in a "supercar" driving round a "track" in third gear!!That doesnt sound great from the reviews does it.

That said, if its truely terrible, you can ask for a refund through groupon again! They will love you!

An old thread I know but if anybody is searching (as I did yesterday) for info on this place....
Went to Seighford Driving Centre today as I had a gift package. I was really excited before I read reviews on here and other Google searched and was expecting a s
t day.
To top it off, it was pissing it down!
Staff were really friendly, instructors really good and talkative, even sat for a few minutes in one car after the drive to chat about track days etc. some reviews said really bad things about the instructors so it is good to see they have addressed it.
The cars were all in a good condition and did have dual control - think it is a brake and something to cut the power.
Yes, it is just a bumpy section of old runway and looks like a car park. This is by no means a track day but a chance to drive dream cars.
No, they don't let you drop down to second gear (apart from the nice guy in the Vantage). It was very slippy however.
They cut the power if you slide which is a bit annoying but they don't know how good/bad driver you are.
6 laps goes by so quickly!
I think all in all, a good experience..... But I wouldn't pay £200 for it!
For info, drove the following:
Ferrari 360
Subaru WRX
Lamborghini Gallardo
Aston V8 Vantage
R8 V8
