4.0 ltr sov A1 £2,000, Condition 2 £1,000, Condition 3 £450.... doesn't sound much for such a car, but Ive just taken those figures from Jag world magazine, apparently the prices are fairly static as their is a general drop of in interest due to punters going for the X308... Personally, I really like the X300, first real solid Jag. Good Luck.

You'll have to give some sort of details and description of the vehicle if you expect any sort of price advice.

hi there.
shes in grey as mentioned and has 87k mile. has been owned by an elderly relative since 97 and i got her last year as a long term keeper but my priorities have changed.
overall she really stands out and even though shes an old girl now still gets a lot of admiring glances and it drives faultlessly, no knocks or squeaks etc.
looking last night on p/heads revealed 2 of the same one at 3500k and another with only 40k miles for 6995 which i think maybe overpriced.
im thinking that these cars will be purchased by people who intend keeping for long term cars but can still be used everyday with little worry.

About £2000 sounds right if it's clean and got a service history.
I'm after an X300 so have been looking for some time and have a decent idea on price.
I viewed an XJR last week, same age, miles, fairly good cond with history in a dealer for £2700, probably would be about £2200 privately.

Am currently deliberating if I need a blower or not, I only want the waft factor.

Where is this car based?

Well, it could have:

Full Jaguar Service History
Or Jaguar for a few years then something else
(the 'something else' can be a decent independent, or Happy Harry's Hammer Shop £49 special)
Or maybe it hasn't been serviced since whenever.

But it looks very nice.

You're looking at £2k at the most.

Where's the rust on it?

Where's the rust????

I have a similar beast, a P plate 3.2L It had a grand total of four 5p sized bubbles on the near side rear wheel arch, which I have dealt with.

The X300 series is where Jaguar finally got the hang of rust prevention!

No, they didn't.

Check carefully underneath. It'll be there somewhere.

If you think X300s rust you should try owning a Merc!

bloody good thing those things come/came with a 30year body work guarantee coz ours looks like its ready for tail gate number 4, and most of the rear end to be swapped too. And this is a car that's been garaged all its life.

X300s might not be perfect but what lump of iron is. They just rust a lot less than most things.

took mine for its anal today and passed with praise from the tester.
he commented several times on how good it was underneath.......even rear subframe had been treated to prevent corrosion. all exhaust is good and generally very good underneath as i also had a look around while she was on the ramp.
really enjoyed the drive to test station....she just wafts along, really nice ride.

Is that where they shove a probe up the exhaust?

My landlord has a x300 (3.2 Sov?) and I love driving it now and then. Top wafting.
