Can anyone advise what black sealant we use to stick the plastic headlight surround to the body work please? Can you just use any black silicone sealant from B&Q?

I had an incident with a pigeon on the M3. Although there was an almighty thump there appears to be no damage apart from the headlight surround becoming loose. There's also a large amount of pigeon debris all over the bonnet, radiator & windscreen, and a strange smell of Pigeon Pie when I get the car up to temperature. At least there's now one less flying rat in the world.

I think it needs to be something more substantial, i.e. windscreen adhesive. the front of the pods weight is supported by the black stuff, the rear by screws.

Sikaflex, or something like that. Very sticky black stuff. If you pop in to a local dealer or specialist, I'm sure they'll let you have a bit to stick it back on. Just don't get it on your hands! :-)

Check out thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=10941&f=9&h=0 - it's for a Griff, but they have got the same problem with the sticky stuff.

Thanks guys. I'll try an appropriate windscreen adhesive, being very careful where I spread it!

RCA – are you going for the updated 'four separate lights' look or for the Afterburners?

Thanks for the reminder. Will get it done this weekend -- outside its new garage (sad man, I know --see post in General TVR-ness).

For what may I ask? (He said, sensing a Max Power-type coloured theme)

For dark red ones that match the paint work
What exactly is with everyone on here having a problem with max power!!!
I have a clio williams and a 106 gti, both of which have been modified.
Everybody has individual tastes and should be allowed to tailor their car to those tastes.
I personally give credit to those who do up their escorts and golfs etc, Not everybody can afford a car like a TVR and they are just making the best of what they have got!!
Just because some don't turn out very nice in some people's eyes, if they are happy with it then fair play to them.
