the 4 speed turbos are an acquired taste . make sure you drive one first lee , some people dont get on with the lag / ratios etc .
i quite like them you really have to plan ahead to make good progress and for some reason im finding the flat noses cooler now than when they were new .
Let me know when your back and we can talk Porschesi quite like them you really have to plan ahead to make good progress and for some reason im finding the flat noses cooler now than when they were new .
I would also suggest you drive one before getting too far down the line.
I'm not a huge fan, for me they aren't flowing enough. You shoot along in a straight line then have to stop for the corners, then you boot it to make it work again and watch out for when the turbo comes in, you need to catch it quickly if you're still in the corner.
The brakes tend to lock up on one side or the other and finding a good one is really really hard. Even 15 or 20 years ago good ones were thin on the ground!
If you like the look then you will probably accept the foibles. I enjoy flowing cars which you can balance on the throttle through a corner and so for me it wouldn't be one of those cars I'd put in the garage. Having said that I can instantly recall the feeling of driving a 930 so it's certainly one of those seminal driving experiences.

A gold flatnose? Surely the worst looking car Porsche has ever built?
This one wasn't built by Porsche being a conversion by a well known company and I guess that it is why it is cheap for a flat nose. The real factory ones tend to be a bit more expensive: like this oneHenry-F said:

3.2 Carrera wideboy (supersport) a far better proposition all round then ?I'm not a huge fan, for me they aren't flowing enough. I'd actually go for a standard body car rather than a turbo bodied one.

Indeedy, tramlining slow old things, not like a 3.2 has so much power it actually needs the extra width, is the sweeter 3.2 to drive than a nice Clubsport? = nope, in fact is any wide body n/a 911 better, again nope, so really don't need the fat arse.Henry

Each to there own tho, dull old world if we all liked the same & many fellas like fat birds & actively seek then out over the better looking & more svelt examples
