Just spent this evening crawling under the car trying to get the bottom bolts out. My God what a horrible job that is! Good news is as you can see from the pics I was right in thinking the manifold had a blow somewhere.

Will be putting the manifold back on tomorrow morning with new gaskets and the ARP bolt set from ACT.
While on the subject which washers should I be using with these new bolts and gaskets?
The ones in the middle that came with the bolts, the ones on the right that came with the gaskets or should I be using both?

think thats what they are called... got a set here which arrived to late... grampian fixings is where they came from

Looks like those gaskets are the ceramic/fibre type items you can buy. They are crap, I bought some and after a few hundred miles they started to blow. They seem to turn brittle with heat and crack - just as seen in your pics. Go for the metal type gaskets.

Just put the nordlocks on.

Gaskets are being replaced with the ACT metal ones.

I'd be concerned that after the flange & washers how much is going into the head. Those look very short bolts to me, the 1" versions at a guess?
