Are driving me MAD! Really really mad. Not just because they are annoying, invasive, distracting and idiotic, but mainly because unlike most people I still pay per MB for my internet. A 2mb singing dancing advert for fking Vanish (trust pink, forget stains) is a COMPLETE waste of money and tbh is driving me away from the site. 5 singing dancing adverts is 10mbs (or whatever it is), or in other words, about $1 (50p) of money completely wasted on crap. Absolute crap which I neither want, nor want to pay for, when surfing PH. 50p may not be a lot, but its the principle. I have no choice in the matter, other than to stay away from the forum, and when listening to music for example I do not want to hear a video in the background advertising some product not connected in any way to the site. If it was advertising BMWs or MotoGP TV or whatever then I could almost see the point, but realistically how many people are going to care about cleaning products which seems to be the only things advertised?

As a chrome user I also tend to open 3 or 4 threads, read them all then go back and open some more, but when I open 4 threads and hear some music from one of these adverts I have to shut down all 4, or go through each one looking for the thread to shutdown. As a result Ive not read any of the threads I originally wanted to read.

I know PH towers must be kept supplied with bubbles and caviar, but this is taking the fking piss. Are they here to stay, some user experiment gone wrong, the face of advertising in the future or some april fools joke which never got taken down??

Yours,
Dial Up User

That's what his profile says but he's talking in dollars. I'm going with a US trailer park in 1994.

OP, serious suggestion: use PH mobile on your PC. Just change the www to mobile.

In all seriousness we do make a point of not having noisy ads.

But as we don't serve all our ads, some come from outside feeds, sometimes a noisy one gets out.
If you tell us about it (ie what the advert is for) then we'll get it removed.
Ad Blockers lose us money you know chaps. One of the ways we pay for PH is through ads (or we wouldn't have them)
