Hi chaps,
Got my Disco booked in for a annual service next week, (7 years/46k).
This service requires a cambelt change, is there any requirement for a waterpump change while they are doing the job? We are still planning to hold on to the car for another 2-4 years, is there anything else I can get them to address while the mechanics are busy under the bonnet?
Many thanks
Hans

Hi
Good idea to get the other two cambelt idler gears replaced as these do not come in the land rover timing belt kit, also, replace the auxiliary belt & tensioner too. The auxiliary belt is part of the 105,000 mile service. Water pumps don't normally give any problems.

Garmin Edge 800 with HRM & Cadence
Wiggins book
Gore Cycling Jersey

I'm struggling to get to grips with the Garmin, but I'm hoping I'll get there. I've just ordered Garmin city maps to go with it.

I'm hoping that combined with base camp will allow me to plot a ride simpley and then load it onto the device.

If I ever get a reply from the event organiser, I'll take it on the PH Tour wink

Depending on the age, you may wish to get the oil pump changed at the same time.
There have been several reported failure's of the tensioner for the belts as they bolt into the oil pump casing, this mount is not strong enough and breaks over time.

Ask for the latest version of it. Only applies to 07+ models though.
