I have a 1994 'facelift' Jaguar XJS coupe going in for a complete respray. The bodyshop have asked me if I know how the 8" or so long seal strips that are fitted between the top rear edge of the front wings and the windscreen scuttle panel. I bought original Jaguar new seals and they are just round section rubber type tubes that appears to stuff in the gap. But what holds them firmly in place? The ones in there right now look orginal and are sort of glued in. I am wondering if the seals are sort of heat reactive, ie apply a hot air gun and they bond in place, like electrical heatshrink?

I appreciate the bodyshop asking in advance rather than later!

Anyone any help or experience with these seals?

Thanks
