Hello All,

I need some rust cutting out of a rear quarter panel:

I've got the entire rear section from another car to use use for donor metal.
I'm waiting for one bodyshop to get back to me but haven't been anywhere else yet. Please can somebody with some bodyshop experience or who has had this done on their own car give me an idea of how much I should be paying to get a wheel arch repair done? I'm planning on keeping the car for a couple of years so I want all rusty metal removed, not just hidden.

Cheers

Not the best pictures but to cut out and weld in new metal £100ish

To paint in the 1/4 £100ish

Definately under £300 if you go to a back street place.

The question is whether that's the limit of the rust - you'll need to pull the wheelarch liner off to see how far back the damage goes.

There's no seperate arch liner - other than the rust round the bumper bracket the rest of the inner arch seems solid. The boot floor is solid - somebody ran into the back of me last year so the boot floor and rear of the car is all new metal. The insurance bodyshop did not want to sort the rust out while they had the car, they did quote but lets just say it had one too many zero's on the end of it. Is this something most body shops would tackle?
Does anybody know a good bodyshop in Stockport? £3-400 I'll be happy with.
