Just had to recalibrate my senses
Discussion
So after 24 hours with the Turbo S I haven't done much more than take my Son and Brother in it, and to be honest hadn't quite got comfy or settled in yet, so decided I needed to have a blast tonight to see what it was all about. I'm totally shocked
How on earth do you keep the throttle pinned for more than a couple seconds on the road? It has so much thrust beyond 4k rpm and so much torque below that. I thought I was taking corners in 3rd, only to find I was pulling my way round comfortably in 4th at about 3k rpm. And then there's the PCCB which felt really good, not at all wooden like some reports I had read... and to top it all off no brake dust
I can see I'm not going to get tired of this for a while

Haha! Yes, that brings back some memories: "ohmyfeckingGodwhothrewtheworldatmyface?"
Thing is, what you really have to worry about is that you'll get used to it. And then begin to wonder whether you should try something faster...
I've never tried hard drugs, but I think I have an idea of how they work now.

When I first got my turbo, I kept looking for a gear higher than 6th, as you just don't believe it could possibly pull that strongly in 6th (and assume you must be in 4th).got mine to 186 and it was still pulling, albeit not as strongly as lower down the range!
the only thing I could liken the torque to was being at the end of a very tight elastic band and suddenly being let go.
It has kind of ruined my senses a bit now.
I never experienced PCCB (my X50 always felt a little "under braked" with the four pot calipers) but its speed and torque was mindblowing.
enjoy

If I get to this point of wanting more speed I will have to book myself in for a check up! As you say though, I may get used to it, but I'm going to have to sharpen my driving skills if I want to get close to that point.

It does take some getting used to... Not sure which is better yet, to be in that wave of torque or, to be in the power but feeling like I'm trying to hold the thing back...

Great fun though.

You'll be surprised; I'm a year in to ownership and am just about getting used to it. The thing is, other road users just don't expect a car to be that fast, and you need to be mindful of that.
Great fun though.
+ you need to check the rear view mirror before you jump on the brakes. The PCCB's will stop you real quick but the people behind you can't. Great fun though.

Try a 996 GT2 that's had an exhaust upgrade and been mapped . . . .

If you want to go real fast get a 9ff GTurbo 1200.
