In slow traffic there's no rattle\vibration. When I'm pushing on there's no rattle\vibration. When I'm 'urban' driving there's an annoying noise as I accelerate. Not sure if its a baffle loose or not. I've read somewhere on here others have experienced this but got it fixed (if it is indeed a baffle). The search function is out of service so can anyone help?

Cheers

Does the car have a PSE? If so if may be one of the valves, otherwise I'd be looking towards heat shields or cats.

Without doubt if it's a Porsche then it'll be the Death Rattle as frequently reported on Internet forums. What model of Porsche is of no consequence , according to the forums and the chip-wrappers they all do it !

Thanks for the replies.

Its a C4S with PSE. The rattle is there regardless of wether the PSE is on or off..

I had a crossover bracket replaced during a service last week, had cracked which was causing a rattle, fairly common according to the indy that replaced it and not very expensive.

I've had a loose exhaust tip before which can rattle. It is normally secured by a screw under the tip which can come loose.

My Cayman S had rattly heat shields. A quick twist with some pliers and it was all sorted again.

If you take it to an OPC, they'll say its the Cats...

I think I'll give the heatshields, tips and any brackets a look at on the weekend.. Next question - Where are the heatshields and can I access them readily?

It might be the cats in which case everything is fine but in my (very recent) experience, my OPC was happy to diagnose the Cats even when it wasn't the cause of the rattle. It later turned out to be the heat shields and was fixed for £20 rather than £1,100 (and that was just for one cat - including labour)
