Sorry about the un PH car question here but does anyone know of any reasons why the spare wheel well would have 10mm of water in it?

I've just cleaned it all out and dried it. After a quick look around I couldn't see anything amiss apart from the rear washer jet loose at the top of the hatch.

Any help on this matter would be gratefully received.

It's not my car by the way, it belongs to Mrs Nemesis.

I call bullst hehe

Anyway; how loose was the washer jet? If it's definitely not that, my money is on the boot seal letting water in.

I was able to pull it out all the way and turn in 360 degrees. I'll check the boot seal tomorrow when I get in from work.

It's quite fun to drive in a perverse sort of way. hehe

I would say boot seal or possibly around the boot handle to open the hatch, i had water coming into a Fiesta through the handle area.

Took the upper brake light out tonight and pulled the little tabs back on the rear washer jet, it's now a snug fit so we'll see if I get anymore water ingress.
