Q. If i buy a 996TT from a non OPC dealer, can i get the warranty extended by Porsche still? Looks like the car will be about 30 months old........

Also, what's the view on the electric sunroof, a must have on the extras list or somewhere behind sat-nav and pdc ?

yes u can. I bought a 993tt from non-OPC and it came with a full Porsche warranty. They sent it to Porsche Reading where they checked the car out for the warranty requirements and issued the warranty. To extend the warranty the following year, you have to go to the OPC where they'll do the standard checks again and issue another year (for a wad of cash of course).

Thanks for the info

So you can roll the original 3 year warranty year on year?

What sort of ballpark wad are we talking about?

95% of 996TT have sunroof....was a delete option,,,but difficult to delete...pcm more desirable,,,pcm1 not all that, pcm2 came in late 02 and was standard on 996TT for 03 model year....I would expect to see most 02 having gone for the pcm option as it was a pity to scrimp when ordering.

Not sure exactly what it costs but I think it's about £900. Covers the turbos & 4wd transmission which is quite useful since they're expensive items. You can role out the warranty year by year up to 10 years then you move onto a slighty less comprehensive warranty until the car is 15 years old if you want to take it that far.

Just go to any OPC and ask about it.
