Need to protect the headlights as much as poss., with a future high speed run looming, and I seem to remember from some years back that there was a clear sticky film you could lay over the top of the headlight as added protection, a quick visit to good ol Halfords produced nothing, does anyone know if it still exists? and if so where?

Cheers, Nik

The TVRCC have a solution... "carbodomes"

Follow this link www.tvrcc.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html then scroll down to "Miscellaneous" and then "Misc Items"

Hope this helps...

I've just started to do lots of high speed miles recently, and this seems a good idea, but what exactly are Carbodomes?

I mean, what do they look like, I have checked out the link above, but can't actually see what they are...can someone describe then or stick a pic on here???

Looks to me like they are clear polycarbonate convex disks that fit over the headlamp glass.
Like a contact lens

Thanks for the advice guys, think i'll go the polycarbonate route, much more effective i think, I'll form my own as poly is easy to work with, cut shape etc. cheers again, Nik.

Alternatively Zertec I believe were offering a conversion to convert an older Chim to the 2001 spec shrouded lights. Its not to everyones taste but I thought I would mention it.

Bugger - that Carbodome stuff must be relatively new. Having suffered a completely smashed headlight I think that I will be spending a little money. I guess it is to be expected, but for a small outlay you can protect them.... well worth it me thinks.

Armourfend won't protect the spots from a big impact as well as the discs, though it would stretch enough to cover the pods too if that bothers you.

I stumbled across some very similar disks in a motor accessory shop - designed for a Ford Capri and in a rather faded box, I got 4 for £10!
