Hi all, the time has finally come to buy my dream car ! I've spent 10 years waiting but I'm finally in a position to buy a Cerbera 
Looking forward to meeting you all and working the spanners on a car
The challenge now is finding a car ..... So big question is do you know who is thinking of selling ? Or any you can recommend ?
I'm after a 4.5 mk2 it's just going to come down to colour schemes ........ ( and budget or course ) looking to spend 18k or a bit more if something really grabs me, I have two I'm looking at at the min but just want to make sure I've not missed anything !

Welcome. You're looking in the right place.
Would suggest you go along to Chatsworth at the end of April and see if anything tickles your fancy as there should be 60-odd there - about 30 or 40 of them 4.5s at a guess. If you're quite specific about colour, the best bet may be to nail an owner and make them an offer. If it's generous, they might just take it. I think you'll find a few owners on here are willing to sell - if the price is right. I was looking for two years - but understand you might not want to wait that long!
Scan the meets section on here and get out and talk to a few owners. Buy the best you can for your cash (£18k should get you a very good one) and if the colour doesn't float your boat - you can always get it resprayed. I'd say buying the right car is more important than buying a Cerb in the right colour.

waited and searched for a year.....then bought an orange one,fell in love with it as soon as i saw it I went into a garage to put a deposit on a weekend toy and they've just got a yellow Cerbera in today. It had graphite coloured alloys, but I don't know enough about Cerbs to say what spec and engine size it was. I was going to ask, but was distracted by the excitement of my purchase (it's a stop gap until I have a garage to keep a TVR in before I get thrown out of here ).

If anyone buys it, tell him it was the guy who bought the Z3 3 litre that tipped you off and he might not feel so bad about the deal I haggled out of him. Actually, I'm sure he still made good money out of the deal, but they like to make you think you've robbed them a bit if you don't pay asking.

Cheers all, I've been to Chatsworth for last 4 years running I'll be there this year with or without a car .... Always great bunch of people with great selection of cars.
Open minded on colours, it's one of those 'I'll know it when I see it' things but as stated on here with wise words buy one cus it's a good car and don't buy just for colour !

Has its already been said. Pay more attention to the car rather than the colour. As already stated. You can always get the car re-painted. Crucial to anyone buying a Cerbera now is condition of the chassis. Cerbs are now at a point now where chassis rot is becoming more of a problem. And dont be put off by one that has a few miles on the clock. I would be more willing to part money on a regularly used example rather than one that only appears for a few weeks during the summer. Cerbs need to be used. And the more use. The better they get.

but should have the Cerb by end of next week if all goes according to plan 
After a long time searching and years of reading on this forum I have today paid a deposit on a 4.5 lightweight, all I can say is I have this stupid grin on my face but it's going to be a long week till I collect her on Friday !!!!!
Will post up some photos and stories of drive home Friday night.
