is there somwhere cheap to stay ( less than £50 a night ) in the area.
This wont be an out and out hoon as I'm still learning the car and it would be nice to look at some scenerey if there is any.

its good and so are the roads around, but if it was up to me I'd hit Northumberland/North Yorkshire instead.
stay over and do a breakfast run before the traffic and cops

Just be careful if you go to Northumberland, there are plenty of police traffic cars and a few cameras too.Barnard Caste and west towards cumbria fantastic roads

Loads and loads of places to stay local to the area, and yes, the roads are worth it. I'm not going to go into detail except for to say "The Sportsman's"...
A couple of summers ago I went on a road trip up through Wales with the specific intention of doing the Evo Triangle. Stayed in Betws-y-Coed for a couple of days, which was a lovely place and some nice places for food/beer. Did the Triangle on the way out to the Peaks on our last day, and although it's well worth a drive there's plenty of other fantastic roads round there too. There's a mountain road just south of the Triangle which we took to get there - which was one of my favs, and the roads round Snowdon are good too. You're spoilt for choice!
We did the Triangle around midday-ish in a School holidays and barely saw anybody. There was a few bikers, a few randoms and some guys doing a photoshoot with a Porsche that was it.
Oh, and the scenery is great - few of my photos from the trip here: http://s338.photobucket.com/albums/n419/CarlosV8/T...

Have a read of this ...

This should help ....

And also search out other roads in North Wales. the EVO Triangle is good but North Wales has lots to offer. Well worth the visit and weekday mornings are usually quiet

The Groes is decent enough, however there's tons of choice if you're that near the coast. Escape in Llandudno is good. (no connection to them).
Other good roads are the ones around Cwm Penmachno... or the road from Capel Curig out towards Porthmadog. The list goes on. The triangle isnt the best three roads by any stretch, it's just a decent round trip. The A5 section (although short) is positively dull. The A5 gets tasty as you travel from there towards Betws, but it's very busy so it's hard to get a truly clear run (I've managed it once in 7 years) and the padog bends are a bad accident spot.
As other posters have said there's a lot more information in the roads section.
