Tyre sizes 245/265
Discussion
I currently have 235/255 tyres on my T350 but I'm needing a new set of rubber.
I'm thinking of changing to 245 front and 265 rear as this seems to give me a lot more choice for semi slicks.
Has anybody run these sizes on 18" spider rims and how did it effect the handling characteristics of the car?
THANKS

Hi
I run Toyo R1R's 225/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rear.
They are actually 230mm wide and fit the spider much better. They do catch slightly under the arch but not very often. I do have nitrons and have raised the ride height a little to compensate.
Cheers

Richie the max size you should be putting on a 8.5" spider is 255 you need to go up to a 9" wide to get the 265 on to safely keep it on the rim under cornering!I'm thinking of changing to 245 front and 265 rear as this seems to give me a lot more choice for semi slicks.

I think I will be going for 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear in KUMHO V70A ECSTA medium compound semi slicks. Toyo R888 and Yoko AO48 availability is terrible at the moment and the Kumhos are supposedly stickier and are cheaper.
So those tyres, 3.91:1 final drive and quaife LSD should make for some good improvements in acceleration and getting the power on the road.

I'll be looking for some front tyres for my T350 soon and want to go 225/40/18,be interesting to know how you get on if the catch.
I had the kumho v70 on my sunbeam lotus they were fantastic so much grip.
225/40/18s were fine on my T350 with the odd wheel arch scrub on full lock when parking. Much better drive than 225/35/18s imo.I had the kumho v70 on my sunbeam lotus they were fantastic so much grip.
Lotus Sunbeam - nice car - my best mate had one of those when we were in our twenties, black with silver stripe - loved it. He did to !

I run exactly the same tires and sizes and I agree (especially with the p.s.) although I still have the standard shocks I have no issue at all except when one of my heavier mates gets in as a passanger :-)I run Toyo R1R's 225/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rear.
