Well, the weather looks to be mild for the forseeable future, I've swapped back to my summer wheels.

Oh. My. God. What a difference! yikes The car sticks to the road, it corners properly, and the TC light didn't come on at all on my (decidedly average) trip to work! It's honestly like driving a different car.

Very pleased to be putting the winters away again biggrin

Proper summer tyres, or justall-weather tyres?

I'll have to fit cheaper all-weathers to the MX-5 soon and really hope I won't regret it too much.

I'm making do with the horrid allweather ditchfinders on the Zed at the moment, counting the days untill a swap to something summery and sticky is a reasonable shout - bloody Aberdeen weather!

I too swapped my wheels back yesterday.

As the OP said, like driving a different car.

Perhaps too keen, I swapped for winter wheels twice through winter, once for each semi-serious snowfall that we had. The winters transformed the traction on snow, but once back on dry tarmac they felt like summer tyres, but with 10psi less in them. The summers by comparison make the car feel like the most precise car to ever have left a factory.

I'll be putting R1Rs back on soon. They fall to bits at -9 degrees and I don't think it's going to get that cold again until after summer.

I was going to paint the wheels while they were off, but was too lazy to spend time in a cold garage.

I might put mine back on over the weekend. If I do, it will snow for at least the following week.

Last year when I switched back to the summer wheels there was a definite improvement - less roll in corners, more precise - but it wasn't as huge a difference as some here have seen.

Same as me of all of the 1 day of snow we had i managed to not die driving with what could be the worst tyres ive come across on a car ive ever driven.

I can't believe i have come through this winter without winter tyres laugh
