Well, after speaking to Mr Grumpy lastweek (local trimmer 4 miles from the house and 500 yards from my work) asked me to take my car in to price a hood, then changed his attitude when he asked if 'd contacted anyone else for a price, i was honest and said yes.. He then became abrupt and rude and said he'd be double the price of DC trim in Blackpool and it would be the end of Autum before he could do it.. His point is, everything he does is top notch and hand made and bespoke... That might be the case, but i'm on a budget and £1000 approx is out of budget.

Trimmer No 2 - local-ish... Called me back, he'd buy the hood in and fit.. Approx a week to do and £625 + VAT

Trimmer No 3 - local.... Saw him yesterday, done a fair few wedges in the past, he will buy a hood and targa top in and fit.. All in £625.. How long, drop off tomorrow morning and get back the following day do you.
So aslong as the tune up doesnt cost the earth and the shirt off my back, the next thing is the hood....

Now, to get the O/S headlamp to go down.. Put on lights yesterday and the O/S wont go back down...

If its not one thing with a TIV, its another -- -

Simon, do you realise that they fit the mohair to your folding hood on the car so they can stretch it to suit the car. Same goes for the targa top they've to make sure the 2 lugs still fit top of windscreen.

Fitting a new hood is quite straight forward - I've done 2. By all means get a trimmer to do it but when you consider the cost of a new hood the fitting seems IMO seems quite pricey. I guess it comes down to what you can afford.

Well everything points towards them. A couple of friends had there's done and are very happy.
So a trip down south it is.
I can't wait to get the Blackpool for the Donkey rides.
