So gents its time for top shed

You have 750 great british pounds to buy a shed.

But you have to choose your shed before you buy so which one would you choose.

You are wanting your shed to be the cheapest way to get around with the least hassle.

Top speeds, accleration, handling are completely irrelevant

all you care about is it being as cheap as humanly posible to run so no barges

Other nominations are welcome to the top ten

For those criteria, I'd say undoubtedly the Micra.

Micra, after the problems with my sisters Ka I dont think it will be cheap motoring for long.

In my experience, Kas are too rust-prone to ever be the ultimate in cheap motoring. Plus their fuel economy is decidedly poor for their size and performance.

As above, wtf is a Solcus?

And, I nominated the Micra.
The worst thing about it is not the dreadful plastic interior, nor the woefully underpowered engine, or the utter bland to ugly looks.
But no, the worst thing about them is that those three are doing a match of "who can live the longest without any kind of service". Meaning that if you ever get one, it won't give you any economic reason to get rid of it.
Grandparents had one as well, it was horrible. But when they died it had 160k miles on the clock and it was as horrible as when it was new.

Focus, might have a few problems but they can almost always be fixed with cheap parts, a 13mm spanner and a hammer. I've heard that Micras are a bit keen on the welder's torch to be totally fuss free.

So not a solcus then? wink

Of that lot, whichever was nearest my home so I didn't spend any of my £750 budget getting to it.

Probably an old passat estate diesel, ideally with at least 300k on the clock run on veg oil.

Or a 90's toyota corolla 1.3i.

Don't think i could bring myself to drive any in the list above on a daily basis, except maybe the 106! I would say focus, but my sisters one kills my back!

106 all the way!

Micra will be the cheapest to run but they look so hateful.

In the old KAs the radio sounds like a mobile phone. Its horrific!
