People accuse Porsche of living in the past with the 911 - but pushrods? In the 21st century?

Yes, pushrods. What's your problem with pushrods on a big V8? The engine is commendably powerful, light, compact and durable, inexpensive to buy and maintain, and pretty economical for its power. If it were a quad cam overhead valve V8 it would be a lot heavier and taller, giving the car a higher centre of gravity. It would also be a lot more expensive, and I don;t think you would get your money's worth.
