Having battled through congestion and speed cameras I find myself asking this on an almost daily basis. Unless you live in Wales, have a large expendable income, and have access to the EVO triangle regularly, most of us face poorly maintained roads, massive congestion, stifling speed limits and ruinous fuel costs.
In my mind the most relevant performance cars of our time have to have just enough power to be interesting, make an exciting noise, ride well, sip fuel, and have agility, adjustability and fizz - even at low speeds. By virtue of these attributes, I'd say the most relevant performance cars of our time have to have a low kerb weight, relatively low grip limits and put a smile on your face without having to travel at warp factor 9.
The Lotus Elise and Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ seem to be the most relevant performance cars on sale. What are your thoughts? Are there any other contenders and do you agree with me?

the new RS4 Avant

it has just enough power, you can get all your stuff in it, it will sit in traffic with duel clutch, and it will do it come rain or snow with 4WD

RS4 has just enough power!? laugh

I'd suggest it is far too fast and capable to be genuinely fun on 99% of UK roads.
