With the modern car loaded with electronics, if something went wrong electronically then not much can be done at the roadside.
When the car refused to acknowledge the ignition key, the car was left stranded. Cost of repair, nearly £700. On the morning the car was taken to the main dealer on a flatbed, there was a queue of C classes. The car immediately in front was a water pump, that was a 2010 model. Then someone else said, their autobox failed down to a solenoid problem. That was a gearbox removal and £5000.
Given that electronics are solid state and can go or come as they wish, how much of a lottery is owning this car?
I am now looking into 3rd party warranties.
