Discussion
Really simple one for any of you close to the cars!!
My reverse light isn’t working and i think i just need to adjust the switch....does it function with the ignition on but engine not running? I don’t want to be starting the car up in the garage or wasting my time trying to make it work if it ‘aint live!!!!

Posted from my phone earlier but was going to say that i was told (by someone well known) that they had spent a while trying to get it working but couldn't. After a while they gave up as it would have cost me too much....
When i fitted the sensual little rockford fosgate amp into the boot i was a little surprised to see it just wasnt connected. Plugged in and worked straight away.

All i can say to this job is what a stupid design switch.
I did the job twice, and im still not sure its going to last. The connector on the switch, the push fit thing, is a cr@ppy design. First time, took about 20 minutes to strip everything, another 20 minutes fiddling, finally fot it working, all back together again to find it had stopped
So, back apart to find the cr@ppy connector wasnt making a firm connection on the threaded rods.
I may well end up taking it out and soldering on some flat tang connectors to that i can be sure of a good connection. For now i have wound some soldering wire aound the connectors to make sure its a tight fit.

rant over. Its working....for now.

Yes it does. I've just got mine working AGAIN..
Why bother. . Backwards is so last year. !
I was in there more for the fact that the gear stick had spun around. I was happily driving along the other day in 5th gear and the car decided it didn't want to stay in gear any more as the stick was touching the console.
Its pretty easy. Remove center console. Handbrake handle and gearstick knob need to come off for this. Theres a boot around the gearstick which needs to be loosened. Be careful if you have to cut through mastic as the wiring for the reverse light comes through here. Once the boot is pulled back, you have access to the switch.
