Lodge holiday - hour or so from Gloucestershire?

Me, Mrs Ghost and Fred the Golden Retriever use the Cornwall site of the Forestry Commission every year:

Shouldn't be too far for you to drive, or they do have one in the Forest of Dean.
Several of the styles of cabins have hot tubs, some even have Xbox's, log fires etc and are very nice
They offer weekly, weekend or mid week rates so should have something to suit you.

Good call. We have used the Forest of Dean one and it is very peaceful and quiet. They are well equipped and nicely laid out and well maintained.http://www.forestholidays.co.uk/cabins.aspx
