No identity as well.....

Bet Liquid Knight would be interested in this with his ringers thread.

bks. Why would there be hay under the bonnet? Either this is stolen and its identity removed or a ringer.

It wouldn't have taken long to push the hay out of the way. My cars that overwinter in the garage get more dusty than that .. .. I think it's staged.

No pic of the dash either. scratchchin

Not only does it have a bit of a shine. The straw/hay does look rather clean and new as well.

Advert should read

HERE WE HAVE A STOLEN FORD ESCORT MK1 RS 2000

THIS HAS BEEN HIDDEN IN A BARN AS YOU WILL SEE IN THE PICTURES

THERE IS NO LOG BOOK OR NUMBER PLATES ON THIS CAR, SO YOU DONT KNOW THE TRUE IDENTITY

THERE IS A CHASIS NUMBER STAMPED NEAR THE SUSPENSION TOP WHICH STARTS WITH BFA___ BUT I CANT READ THE REST OF THE NUMBERS AS I HAVE SCRATCHED THEM OFF, THE CHASSIS NUMBER MAY BE READABLE IF THE PAINT IS SCRAPED AWAY, WHICH IM NOT GOING TO DO AS THAT WOULD PROVE I HAVE REMOVED IT.

IT WILL BE DOWN TO THE WINNING BIDDER TO APPLY FOR THE V5 AND FIND OUT IT HAS BEEN STOLEN.

THIS CAR IS TOTALLY RUST/ROT FREE

PLEASE NO SILLY QUESTIONS AS I WOULD PREFER NOT TO ANSWER ANYTHING ABOUT ITS ORIGINS.

A FULL RECEIPT WILL BE GIVEN FOR THE CAR WHICH WONT BE WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON

CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY AND MUST BE COLLECTED 24HRS OF THE AUCTION ENDING AS WE WILL BE MOVING ON VERY QUICKLY AND WOULD RATHER THE POLICE CANNOT TRACK US DOWN.

Maybe I'm being unfair, but my spidey senses are tingling on this one.

maybe its stolen and they have had it hidden for a while, till the heat was off.

It needs to be posted on the Ford forums.

(I would but I am not a member)

also it looks quite freshly painted from the engine bay shot. as in not just cleaned up.

VR

edit I type to slow.

That's about as dodgy a car advert as I've ever seen. Get some hay bales, throw them over some stolen, VIN-removed cars and claim it as a barn find!

There is no dust on the windows, that suggests to me it is staged.

The straw looks new, the car is shiny.

Yes, why would anyone have strewn hay all about the place and all around the car? Also, hay is absurdly dusty - the car *may* have been wiped down but it does look too shiny. And if it was a barn find, you would be excitedly brusing the hay off the blue car to see what's underneath!

In September last year the seller purchased two Cibie Super Oscars. Probably just coincidence...
