mr2 injectors am i being thick??

I'm part way through a very relaxed headgasket change on my mk2 rev2 mr2 N/A and i've come to a bit of a sticking point i can't seem to get past I can't get the injectors back in with the insulators on. Is there a trick to doing it or do i need to put a socket on and hammer them or do i just need to mtfu and push harder?? Thanks in advanve. .... Matt
