Amazingly beautiful part of the country. If you are into road races well worth doing it once in your life, plus you get to explore that part of the coast as part of a holiday.

A colleague of mine is doing it - had I been on one of my SA legs (I travel there very regularly) I'd have taken the bike and done it too...

When I go on holiday, I like to know I've got all my hotels and travel arrangements booked in advance.

On our holiday in 2002, Mrs Kermit declared a desire to be spontaneous and not book anything in advance for 3 days out of the three week holiday....

The destination was Capetown, and the dates were March the 8th, 9th & 10th.

The Cape Argus took place on the 10th.

From the 8th to the 12th, Australia played ZA in a cricket test in Capetown.

On the 8th, the Stormers played the Wellington Hurricanes in a Super 12 fixture in Capetown.

Would anyone care to guess just how fking close to the centre of Capetown we managed to find a hotel? irked

Strangely, since then Mrs Kermit has never again mentioned the idea of injecting spontaneity into our travel arrangements! hehe

Someone told me that BA fly a 747 mostly full of cyclists there and back every year, plus a parallel cargo flight to carry all their bikes. I'd love to know whether this is true or not.
