After being a lazy bd for a year with virtually zero training other than teaching the odd self defence course I decided to get back onto the weights 3 weeks ago.

I reckon I am carrying about 20KG of unwanted body fat so the goal is to achieve the above stats whilst reducing fat considerably over the 6 month period. I reckon it will be easily achievable.

I am 3 weeks into a 12 week strength gaining routine. Will post the routine to the other thread.

Good luck everyone!

Once I've achieved these targets I'm going to cut for a couple of months then reassess.
I'm not going for a high weight on squat as my knee plays up, instead I'm going to do German Volume Training as it's less weight but lots of reps.

Not bothered. This is purely for vanity purposes.

Goals:
1) Get ultra lean so I can see what there is
2) Continue to build up (I know it's vague but I'm easily satisfied - the chicken will confirm this)
3) To do front lever pull ups (might be impossible in the time given and not having a coach but shall give it a go, anyway)

Going to spend the next 6 weeks cutting then looking to add lean muscle. I have fked knees so my deads/squats are weak and my form suffers. I'm going back to basics on those with light weights and lots of reps to get my form and ancilliary muscles right before increasing the weight again. I will eventually target 2x body weight on these.

Good luck guys!

Go on then i'll be in on this too.

User: nottinghamblue
Age:19
Height:6 ft 1
Weight: 252 lbs
Starting picture: p.s put the picture from before up to give me a kick of motivation after a week off working out.

Current stats:
Started to go to the gym since october, general cardio training for cycling.
Started to sort out my diet and do specialized training (muay thai) in january and subsequently lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks.
Not sure as to my stats at the moment, will do a big 'see where im at' session tomorrow and see how long I can cycle for and what pace, and my 2km rowing time and the RAF fitness test running part. Not too bothered about weights except for aiding with fat loss.

Goals:
Planning a 10 day cycle trip with 2 mates to Paris and back via Normandy in june/july. Will need to be able to hack potentially up to 10 80 mile days in a row or would like to do so just to be on the safe side.
Want to be able to pass the RAF fitness test by xmas.
Complete Tough Guy next january.
Weigh 205 pounds being pretty lean and strong.
34" waist would be good.
'healthy' BMI.
Body fat % of < 20
Be in a place (fitness wise) where people won't ask me to write a will if I say I want to do a marathon.

Notes: Weighed 280 pounds before xmas period, didn't even want to look at the scales just after new years before I started my health kick and therefore didn't, wouldn't be surprised if I was 285-290 though.
Weighed 261 6 weeks into health kick so lost >20 lbs as of 6 weeks in (2 weeks ago) so going well.
Student, so alcohol abstinence is a no no, but cut down, a lot.

Not necessarily want to 'win' or compete, just looking for some friendly advice and motivation, from what i've seen a lot of the guys on here really know their stuff. Started well so confident I can get to my goals.
Would be good to have someone with comparative goals as me as well.

I don't work well with meaningless goals so I won't be putting arbitrary numbers up but I'm looking to lose fat for the Summer.
By the time the competition ends I'll probably be past my 'peak' and starting to pack on the Winter blubber again. hehe

So I've taken a photo, it's not the best, but it's a start.

In terms of goals, I only really have one - visible abs. That's something of a simplification, I have loads of mini goals, but when I started this journey 6 months ago, that was what I set out to do.

In terms of fitness, I started running a few weeks ago. I'd like to do a sub 50min 10k.

Height: 6ft 1
Weight: 13 stone dead on

For reference, here is one pic from mid-October last year and December last year:

I don't have a goal. Going to spend the year experimenting. I am looking to:

run a 5k in a respectable time
Deadlift BW x 3
Overhead press BB x 1
I am racing a friend at 100m in a couple of months.

I'm in a bit late!
Age:18
Height: 5ft 10
Weight: 12 1/2 stone

My goal is to just get down to 11.5/12 stone and get some muscle definition.
Also want to bring my 3k run time down to about 13 mins ( doing it in 16 at the moment but this is after a hard gym session)

main reasons for wanting to get fit are: mountain biking will start up again in summer and i will be riding 25 miles some days on a single speed jump bike so need fitness.
Off snowboarding next winter a few times so need some more muscles in my legs.
Oh and i want to look good for my holiday at the end of june

Currently go to the gym about 4 times a week and play football twice a week for an hour at a time.
I look forward to the challenge and i just know i will achieve me goals biggrin

Age:33
Height: 1.8m
Weight: 128.5kg
Body Fat: Yes

Goal: To lose 25 kilogrammes, I've started swimming daily and eating sensibly. I'll also be starting up some form of martial art again (previously 6 years wing chun)

main reasons for wanting to get fit are: I've really let myself go over the past 10 years, I used to be very active playing rugby and doing wing chun, but a ruptured disc after a collapsed scrum put paid to that and I've never really recovered mentally. I have twin boys, turning 2 in May and I'd like to be able to keep up with them, I also think I need to set them a good example as I can't let them get like my lardy ass has.

Right now my plan is to keep up the daily swim, or at least some form of cardio daily to shift the initial weight, I'm swimming 30 minutes every morning, and looking to do at least 3 evening classes a week. If I can't find somewhere to train I'll probably just take a bag to a quiet corner of the gym and spar with it for 45 minutes or so.

I'm open to advice, I'm fat, out of shape, and it's been at least 10 years since I saw the inside of a gym (not counting ones I've seen on TV), so hook me up.
