Good evening guys, is there any cure to this? It's just getting annoying trying to reverse even on a 5 degree slope!

Clutch seems to engage then to disengage! If i press on the throttle then the car moves too fast!

Having driven a couple of Vantages (Sportshift), they all seem to have the same problem.

P.S: Clutch is fine

Is it manual or sports shift??

Mines a manual and it hates reversing onto my drive... slight slope and a faint smell of clutch!!

Too high a gear ratio i believe is the problem and worse on a sportshift.

Welcome to "creep" mode on ASM1 or "how to cook your clutch" frown
Gone on ASM2 wink
And gains better reverse gear ratio

I had the approach to my garage relayed from gravel to brick and while the slight incline is still there it's much easier to reverse in. :bang head:

However my wife did deal me a reality check when I suggested we put heating in the garage in case we had another severe winter.

If it is a manual, don't touch the accelerator when reversing. With gentle use of the clutch the car will happily reverse up hill and/or round a corner when idling because the electronic idle speed control (governor) is much better at reacting to changes in engine load than your foot is. As soon as you touch the accelerator, then the ECU thinks that you are now in control and so the idle speed governor fails to operate and the car stalls. This sounds daft I know but try it. Keep your foot well away from the accelerator...
