I've always signed petitions on this matter and will do so again. I think the work done by Halfon and the Fair Fuel UK campaign has been very good but unfortunately i dont think it'll prevent this years duty rise. The Government will spin us some rubbish about needing the revenue etc but the fact is since the Chancellor scrapped the January rise, the fuel has gone up by about 7p on average, meaning the treasuries take from VAT on fuel has risen.

They dont need to put it up, but they probably will this time. So much for that 'reduce the tax burden on the economy' stuff.

How very British - the poeple are fuming about something, so what shall we do? Lest sign yet another petition for the government to ignore or at the very best pay a bit of lip service to.

I suppose its marginally above doing absolutely nothing, count me in.

They'll only end up sticking the tax on something else. Probably motoring related.

Bah humbug.

Nothing will happen. No matter what we do, we won't change the price of fuel. It NEVER goes down (If it does it never stays there)

I know where you're coming from, but they stopped 9p/litre in tax hikes in the last 18 months and helped to defer the August 3p per litre fuel duty rise.

And as the man said: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
