Let’s assume you wanted to buy this car (that should get opinions nicely polarised!!) wink

http://www.autotraderuae.com/index.php?go=cars_for... – 2008 Ferrari 430, Novitec Rosso

Or if not that car, a Ferrari/Porsche/Lamborghini at about the £65,000 or AED 375,000 mark

What you need to do to have the car brought to your doorstep, checked, UK compliant and ready for you to drive away in?

What would it cost?

In the grand scheme of things, is it at all worth it?

Thanks!

You will need to pay import duty and vat on top of the price you pay.

I know you do, but why do you have to pay VAT on a second hand item. If you bought somehing 2nd hand in the UK you wouldn't be charged VAT

Second hand goods in the UK will have had VAT charged on it when it was new.

Chaps, to make this a useful thread, could we use figures?

On the face of it, it looks prohibitive.
