Porsche 997 Turbo Exhaust

Well after a few days of using the recently acquired 997 TT I can say I'm well chuffed with the car, goes like stink, stops well, handles great everything is there for me.... bar the sound 
My 997 has the OPC warranty and after a search on here it has become obvious that an aftermarket system voids warranty, have Porsche not offered an upgrade yet?
Has any one had a different system fitted and had warranty work done ok?
I have seen some folk remove aftermarket system before going in for warranty issues, which isn't a problem but the fasteners on the 997 system are quite corroded so they would need replacing which would give the game away..
I dont personally need the warranty as I can look after the car myself it's just nice to have it to fall back on if something big went wrong. My main concern is resale value, with an opc warranty the car is an easier sale so I dont really want to loose it.

Your dilemma is the main reason I did not look for a car with warranty and have my hands tied for fear of the warranty police voiding, hence car is having new breathing apparatus, shorter springs and spacers fitted in the morning... Oh for sure I'm not knocking the warranty and naturally if there was a fault it would be nice to get some one else to foot the bill / do the work! It's just it isn't a necessity for me as if pushed I can sort it myself, its just the dilemma of going ahead and personalizing the car how I want it or just leaving it as is to preserve the warranty?I'd like to have the wheels gloss black (black car) or maybe an alternative wheel, with some spacers slightly lower springs and obviously the exhaust. Similar to Phoenix's plans. I set the alignment myself (luckily I have £12k worth of gear
) and the car felt like a new one straight away. Considering its been at Porsche for its service etc by the previous keeper I was shocked to see how far out it was.Decisions decisions!
Will fitting an aftermarket exhaust invalidate my manufacturer's warranty?
We often get asked the question "if I fit one of your exhausts to my car, will it invalidate my manufacturer's warranty?". According to the law the answer is an emphatic NO. However, many people, including vehicle suppliers themselves, do not know this and supply the wrong information. Here are the facts:
The Law
In October 2003, European Union legislation affecting the motor trade came into force. Its full title is 'Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002' (in short 'BER'). This legislation changes the way cars may be serviced and repaired, and gives motorists a lot more freedom in their decision about who should look after their cars.
The BER covers areas such as who can service vehicles other than agents appointed by manufacturers and, more specifically to customers who are considering a sports exhaust, parts that can be fitted to a vehicle. Below we draw upon in particular the issues that concern fitting replacement parts to a vehicle that are not the manufacturer's original equipment.
The BER introduces certain definitions of importance to the independent aftermarket. There is a new definition of 'original spare parts' and 'matching quality parts' that is based on the quality of the component. Vehicle warranties cannot be invalidated if these conditions are met:
The BER also covers service and maintenance during the warranty period and prohibits vehicle manufacturers' warranties from including conditions requiring that all parts used must be the VA's "original spare parts".
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION DECLARED THAT SUCH CLAUSES IN A WARRANTY DOCUMENT WOULD REPRESENT 'AN UNJUSTIFIED RESTRICTION FOR THE CONSUMER.

This is the reason I didn't extend my warranty. I wanted a nicer sound, I wanted a little more power, I wanted an improved Bosch Silver battery when the Porsche one failed etc.....
I've owned my car now for nearly three years and had nothing go wrong outside of the first year. I've saved money by not using my useless OPC, and have peace of mind that servicing has been done by people who care and really want my business.

Reviving an old thread here, but has anyone bought any exhaust systems from Top Gear? They seem to be advertising quite a few systems on the parts page and they're on Ebay too. Might look at getting an exhaust sytem for my 997.1 T and I quite like the idea of a switchable system like the one Top Gear offer.

I wouldnt recommend it, I mean, have you seen Clarksons welding?!
