My son turns 17 in May and would like a quad for his first "car". Don't know any insurers that would insure a 17 year old for a quad. He would like to have a 350cc or larger, any help is welcome.
Thanks

First thing to find out is if they're insured as "bikes" or "cars". Bike will be doable <£500. As a car you'd be lucky to get ten times that.

Lads got one but he is 19,insured like a car so no probs there. No way will he get a 350cc at 17,one other thing they cost a st load to run if your doing 7,000 a year.
Edited to add he pays £1,200 a year, will ask with who when he gets in.

You might want to check the smallprint also. There have been a few threads on this matter on here and it appears they are classified as an agricultural vehicle and whilst you can get insurance, look to make a claim and they'll be asking for proof you're a farmer.

Of course I could be completely wrong.

quad as in quad bike - all the downsides of a car and no upsides of a motorbike?

apart from maybe cheaper insurance, why?!

The good thing about a car is that it's warm and dry. The bad thing is that it gets stuck in traffic. The good thing about a bike is that you dodge the traffic, the bad thing is that's it's cold and wet.

And then there's the quad bike, which combines the worst aspects of both!!
