Just dropped the 2 off for a service and thought I'd have a nosey round one while im here.
Looking round a ct200h f sport and its actually rather smart. Lots of kit but then I had a Google. £27k+ and its no faster than the standard spec! Same 1.8 petrol + motor. If it was a 1.8t then we might be talking.

What are people's opinions on them inside and out? Online seems to be lots of halfords based criticism about the exterior, nothing about how it goes...

I think they look rubbish, and every single review of one I have seen has stated that it is actually, rubbish. Reportedly not that economical, crap handling but with an uncomfortable ride. Essentially a more expensive re-skin of a Prius. It's meant to not be able to get near the official MPG either.

But by all means, try it for yourself if you like the look of it. First hand experience always beats other sources of info.

Yes, it's expensive. It's aimed at people who don't care how much it costs, but want all the toys

I'd like the one with Kylie in.

Ive never driven one, so i cant be too objective, but I cant believe people spend so much money on a Toyota Auris based hybrid that has mediocre performance, so, so economy and just looks so bland!

Why anyone would by something like this over a decent turbo diesel such as a Golf GT TDI 170 is beyond me!

This car seems to have been designed purely to fit a tax bracket and to hell with the important stuff to do with ride handling and performance! Its a way of Lexus shifting a few cars to fleets.

I saw one in the metal yesterday and I quite liked the look.

No idea how it drives but that's where test drives come into it. Get yourself behind the wheel if you're tempted.
It's a Lexus so should be pretty reliable.

Not a bad car but its certainly not cheap.

Its not a re-skin of the Auris or Prius but it does use the same drivetrain

Quality is superb and its quantum leaps ahead of the Prius in terms of refinement but every time I drive one I'm frustrated by the CVT gearbox

Because diesels are smelly, don't rev, sound st, are bad for the environment/health and VWs are even more boring than Toyotas. Also, that Golf will cost you a lot more than the Lexus if you want any kit in it.

Or until the battery needs replacing?

Decided not to bother...

On the CVT side of things, I noticed it has a rev counter. Thought a CVT meant the engine stayed at the same revs?

Can't ever imagine spending that sort of money then waiting over 10 seconds for 60 to arrive
Think I'll go back for a test drive when there's a GT-86 in the forecourt...

Has he got one? Or has he tested a few of them to failure?

Why would the battery pack ever need replacing - common misconception, would be the last thing to stop me buying a Toyota / Lexus hybrid - designed to last the life of the car
