Just got my Gaz Gold Shocks back from servicing, they have also had the rose jointed bottom ends from the Gaz Gold Pro's fitted due to concrens over failures of the original Gaz Golds.

Anyway came to fit them this morning and it seems as though the bottom bushes are a bit wider than on the original Gaz Golds as I can't get them to fit into the lower wish bone. Is there a trick to this or is it just a mater of brute force to get them in?

Daz, got GGP's on the Chimaera and I think they are fab - there are so many choices now but you can't really go wrong with them. Got Nitron's on the Cerb and they are a step up again.

So do you think the monos are an overkill?

Did you go for off the shelf or did you change the spring rates and have the valves tweaked ..

Im thinking GGP`s with 375/450 or Gaz mono 375/450 or 400/500 ..confused

Money is a bit tight ,so much to do ,
if the GGP`s are up to it i will go for them.
Just want to get rid of the Nickels with the 325/400 springs.

I phone Derek at Absolutely Shocks, told him what I wanted and paid him. To be fair I don't know anything about the monos or stuff, I just wanted new shocks.

Technical me eh!?

These GGPs seem very popular even though they had some bad press a while back.
Is it just that they sit in that sweet price spot between the Bilsteins and the Nitrons, giving you a better setup without going into 4 figures, or are they genuinely very good ?

My shocks and springs are looking very tired, springs rusty etc. They get through the MOT but no idea how they are really actually performing. I notice you can buy just the red springs but are the originals pretty poor anyhow ? Or are they good enough for daily drive with the occassional sprint when given the chance ?

I had them fitted last March and set up for fast road use. The difference between the GGP's and the original Bilsteins I took off was chalk and cheese. Yes, the Bilsteins were original and had done 60K miles but the GGP's transformed the car no end. I now have a feel to the car I didn't have at all before and am confident in how it will react when pushed into a corner.

The pricing point wasn't a major issue for me but they were on special offer at TVR Power at c£675 all inclusive from memory. I am not a good enough driver to notice the benefit that Nitrons appear to offer others on here so settled for GGP's as they were receiving good press at the time and I am not dissappointed thumbup

+1 - the confidence boost alone made me quicker cross country than any BHP upgrade I could have made I reckon.

+2 Gaz Gold Pros for me, a massive step up from the old Billies.

When you consider the significant handling improvement I would say they deliver fantastic value for money too.

The springs on mine took a couple of thousand miles to settle, after this I re-set the ride height to give the slight nose down stance which gave further improvements in high speed stability.

I currently have them set on 13 clicks from soft (front & rear) which is quite firm but not harsh.

Now everything has settled I may try backing the rears off by a couple of clicks to give 11 clicks rear & 13 front.

I understand from "Haircut Mike" that having the rears softer by a few clicks is the way to go?

This was the reason I went for the GGP's after a good chat with Dom at TVR Power. I was going to spend a few bob on engine upgrades last year and he suggested going with new suspension instead as my engine was healthy. I'm glad I listened as the car is now certainly easier to drive point to point and the feedback I get allows me to make faster progress now thumbup

Next stage is a brake upgrade biggrin

Quite right.

A stiffer rear end reduces rear end grip and introduces oversteer.

A pic of when my rear needed softening as the inner wheel is lifting.

Hi Peter, how many clicks difference front to rear do you suggest?

Thanks, Dave.

Hi guys!
I've GGP on my T350t rr by 3 months, but they are too soft for me. 11 clicks front - 15 back. Mine should have a total of 20 clicks, right?
I've heard many GGP are defective, how can i understand if mine works fine??

Thanks to all! Max from Italy (the only italian t350 owner, i think)
