1:350 Dragon Z38

Delivered today so a way off needing any paint but what colour should the upper hull be painted (1944 Kriegsmarine)?
Instructions say a mix of 65% white and 35% dark grey but I'd rather not have to mix. I'm also assuming that the advice would be to build it up and then spray the whole ship (without the lower hull in place) going back to repaint any details needed in other colours? Or, is it better to spray it all on the sprues and build it up painted? I'm assuming the former as if done the second way there would be lots to touch up once cut from the sprues.

Have to say that some of photo-etch parts (and a fair few of the plastic ones too) look very fragile. I don't see me getting through this build without at least some swearing involved

No Naval expert. But these guys are pretty good regarding paints.
