I must apologise...
Discussion
... To the man in the Octavia VRS on the M1 today at about 3-4 o'clock, midway between London and Leicester.
I rarely drive my car with 5 people in it and as a 1.4 it makes one hell of a difference. If you are on here, I apologise profusely and your flashing was recognised as a reminder to know what happens when 5 people are in an under-powered car rather than 1.
I hope the good people can forgive me this mistake, the one big one I was aware of on this journey. (Other small mistakes were of no consequence to anyone and if someone pipes up and says something stupid like 'I need to retake my test, get off the internet as we all make mistakes from time to time.).

Doubt he'll get to read this, OP.I rarely drive my car with 5 people in it and as a 1.4 it makes one hell of a difference. If you are on here, I apologise profusely and your flashing was recognised as a reminder to know what happens when 5 people are in an under-powered car rather than 1.

Screw em.. the level of impatience displayed on the roads these days is mindbending. If you were in the outside lane to get past someone and then impatient wang in the car behind you couldn't wait 10-15 seconds for you to safely complete your overtaking maneuver then tough luck to him.
I don't begrudge anybody the chance to overtake, the roads are there for all of us so I'll just wait. It only gets annoying when people have a perfectly good opportunity to move over the let you past, but don't. Pulling up behind somebody who clearly has nowhere to go and flashing your lights is the sure sign of a moron.

I suspect the OP wasn't getting past him.lankybob said:
Even still, it is a PH car and I like to confess to my sins! :P
If a skoda is a PH car, then i must belong to the wrong site, if you strapped a jet engine to one it would still be a skoda, he should apologise to you, for you having to look at the ugly thing.PS my first car was a super estelle 120L so i enjoyed constant ribbing when i was 17! but i wouldnt touch one now with a barge pole.
The car you owned back then is light years away from the Skoda that is made now..
A very solid robust car in all it's permutations..
On topic the OP is too honest and probably a decent driver to boot..

I'm going to refer back to this post in every future truck-elephant racing thread on PH, from now on.jimmy156 said:
I'm sorry OP, but why on earth would you come onto the internet to apologise to a random driver because he flashed you. He wont read this, he wont care, for most people this event would be so insignificant as to be forgotten within 5 minutes.
The point was I see many threads on here with titles like 'That driver on the M1 in a Rover 200' complaining with a holier than thou attitude about a mistake the driver have made.We all make mistakes when driving and yesterday was a large mistake made on my part.
