Wiper Motor

Hi All
Who knows which wiper motor was fitted to a Jan 88 2.8 S, looks like a Lucas ??, were they 2 speed only.
I was going to take it out today and clean it up but the plug is missing, was in it last time I looked but now its gone so I need to get another one,

Hi Alan, I have a "scrap" loom from an S (very handy for bits of correct colour wire when doing little mods), I'll dig it out later and see if I can recognise the wiper motor plug.


Looking at the wiring diagram it should have four wires;

Red / light green
Brown / green
Green / pink
Blue / light green

Hi Mike.
My wiper motor has not been run for about 8 years years or so, I have to take the arm and gearboxes off for the re spray so I was going to remove all the wiper unit and clean it up a bit, I must have put the plug in a safe place (one of many boxes), going down in a bit to do a few jobs will look for it then.

I know there was 2 motors fitted to the S in 88 but don't know how to tell which one I have, might be some info when I get it out today.

We've all done that! I'm still trying to find a gas strut lug I put in a "safe place" last summer.

My wiper motor is lucus although an ac delco unit was also used they are both 2 speed on the s1. Apparently the pug 405 is a suitible replacement ( thanks greymrj). If you scroll down you will find my recent thread on the same subject.

Hi All
Just got back for lunch, good luck on the wiper motor all works fine and I found the plug, not the same colours as the TVR, I think the chap before me must have replaced the plug and wire as its thin wall cable rated at 16.5 Amps so will just leave the wires as they are.
