I would like my 2009 XK to sound a little sportier (noisier!!)

Is it fitted with an EVC..exhaust noise control valve?

If it is does anyone know how to delete it?

Thanks

Open the rear arm rest between the rear seats and pull out fuse 19 (10 amp fuse), this will disable the active exhqust valve and keep it open ;-)

Enjoy

Where are these valve fitted? Would it be possible to retro fit them to other cars? My XJR (x308) is too quiet most of the time, but I don't want the noise all the time. I have looked at exhaust cut-outs, which enable a valve to open and allow the exhaust to by-pass the silencers and sound like a V8 should. Has anyone ever fitted these to a Jag? I want to make sure they sound right, the last thing I want to do is change for something which make it sound like the exhaust has a hole / has fallen off.

It should not make any differance at speed as the valve would then be open anyway.
It just makes a deeper sound at idle

Valves dont open at speed but at and above a certain RPM I think 3000. Deffo sounds better at all speeds though. If you wanted more then a backbox mod will do the job. Google MIJ birmingham and give them a call. Costs around £350 and you can choose how good/boy racer you want it ;-)

I found the following thread: http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-17/2000-...
A guy has fitted the cut-outs to an XKR. He has put them between the front and rear boxes. He has also kept a separate switch for each side, won't that affect the balance of the engine?
When I get a bit of time I'll remove the rear boxes and see how loud it gets?
I've seen a few of these kits and they seem to offer a nice compromise of being able to be quiet as standard (Mrs, mother in law etc in car) and then simply flicking a switch to proper V8 sounds. I've even thought about connecting them to the sport button?
