Where are these valve fitted? Would it be possible to retro fit them to other cars? My XJR (x308) is too quiet most of the time, but I don't want the noise all the time. I have looked at exhaust cut-outs, which enable a valve to open and allow the exhaust to by-pass the silencers and sound like a V8 should. Has anyone ever fitted these to a Jag? I want to make sure they sound right, the last thing I want to do is change for something which make it sound like the exhaust has a hole / has fallen off.
I found the following thread: http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-17/2000-...
A guy has fitted the cut-outs to an XKR. He has put them between the front and rear boxes. He has also kept a separate switch for each side, won't that affect the balance of the engine?
When I get a bit of time I'll remove the rear boxes and see how loud it gets?
I've seen a few of these kits and they seem to offer a nice compromise of being able to be quiet as standard (Mrs, mother in law etc in car) and then simply flicking a switch to proper V8 sounds. I've even thought about connecting them to the sport button?
