Advice on what year / model XKR to buy please?

Hi all

Thanks for looking at my post. Ive finally got some cash together to buy my dream car which is a Jaguar XKR. I have up between £7,000 - £12,000 to spend, (though i don't want to spend it all if i don't need to!)

My question is.. are there any particular year / models that i should avoid and equally, are there any years / models i should go after..

When they brought in the 4.2 Lt there was many updates

A lot depends though in what you prefer with the looks of the early or the later version

If you are looking at a 4.0 version, best to get one that has had the timing chains and tensioners replaced. Otherwise looking at £1000 - £2000 bill sometime in the near future.
