Back in the kit car fold... very excited :)
Discussion
Afternoon.
After a couple of years with a supercharged lotus elise S1 I'm back in a kit car...

Bought it today. It's a credit to its owner/builder and can't wait to collect it next week. Well worth the atrocious weather getting home and the alarmingly wet passenger test drive.
It's got a 400bhp mazda 13b turbo rotary engine in it
Cheers,
Mark

So a bit sluggish then?

It's mental to be honest. It does have adjustable boost though so you can adjust it from fast to (presumably) insane.
This is the ebay ad...

It's difficult to say what it's like compared to my last westfield which had a John Eales 4.6l v8 in it which produced something like 290bhp and 300 ft lb torque. It certainly appears to be a lot easier to drive in the wet based on Tony's demonstration. My westfield put out 240 ft lb of torque around idle according to John Eales when I phoned him up and that made it a handful in the wet to be honest.
I know these are extreme versions of kit cars and I nearly bought something much more sensible last weekend (a 1.8 zetec car with about 180bhp) but there was an technical issue on the test run - really felt for the seller as it was clear it was unexpected. However, you only live once

Regards,
Mark
