I've been wanting to upgrade the exhaust on my mk2 2.8 Granada for a long time but no one makes tubular manifolds for the 2.8 Granada. You can buy them for the Capri, Sierra and other cars fitted with the same engine but not the Granny.
Also Capri ones are different from Sierra ones etc.....

Does anyone know or has anyone tried to fit Capri or Sierra tubular exhaust manifolds to a MK2 Granada? Obviously they are going to fit to the engine but I'm reluctant to buy a set incase they foul something else in the engine bay like the steering column for example. Even the the suppliers have no idea if they'll fit or not. I have no issues in matching the manifolds up to the rest of the system if I just knew if they'd fit or not.

I'm inclined to try the Capri ones 'cos I feel they are the most likely ones to fit because the Capri must have a much narrower engine bay than the Granada therefore they will be made to fit tighter to the engine.

In anticipation...........

cheers Rich

I seem to remember a MK2 Granada in Classic Ford magazine many years ago that had tubular manifolds & i'm almost positive the guy had to have them made specially as the Sierra & Capri ones fowl.

from what ive seen of the capri ones compared visually to the ones on my mk2 granada, they were a very similar design.

i would imagine the capri ones will fit the granada and not hit the steering shaft, but wouldnt meet up with the standard downpipes biggrin

Thanks for your help guys.....

I'm not to fussed about whether Capri manifolds will mate up to the exhaust or not, I'm quite happy to play about with that and make some pipes to make them fit.

If only I knew if the manifolds themselves didn't foul anything in the engine bay.
Thats why I'm reluctant to buy a set in in case it's a waste of money. If I could find some second hand ones at the right price I'd give them a go.

I'd have to sell my Kidneys to have some made and I'm quite atatched to those.......
