Hi All,
I had a search of the forum but couldn't find any references to this and so thought I'd ask to see if anyone can help?
After a good weekend back with the V12V, including the meet at Trinity, I just pulled off the motorway and put some fuel in the car. Went to restart it and had "Crash mode see manual" error message, some mis-firing and hazzard lights on. V strange at the time - so took the key out, tried again and it seemed to work fine. I just arrived at the hotel for the night and thought I'd check it again after 10 mins of being off, and got the same thing (needless to say I can;t find "crash mode" in the manual). I took the key out again and re-started it, all OK but now get "emission system service required" - for which I have seen some previous threads...
Anybody have any ideas where this has come from, and is it OK to drive the car if its working, or tow truck time...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if the case would be the same with the V12V but stands to reason... I know the V8's have a check-valve in the fuel filler, designed to determine when the car has crashed or been put on the roof. A couple of my clients who are particulary useful drivers have accidentally activated 'crash mode' on the track when they had a full tank of fuel (sloshing up the filler neck & tripping the valve.)
Is it possible that you got a little splash-back when filling the tank that might have set off the valve?
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for that - it sounds as an interesting possibility.....can't say right now but maybe that is the reason...It's booked into dealer tomorrow (still under AM warranty) so I'll see, but if I get anything useful I'll post to add the general knowledge base that keeps us all going!!

Hi,
Well I think ultimately it was probably fuel contamination - water or something similar - I found out afterwards that the service station I stopped and bought fuel at suffered from flooding - how true - I'm not sure.
Anyway, after the dealership had the car (bad and sorry tale) they did not manage to find anything other than add loads of miles to test it and get a puncture, etc. but the car has been fine marvellous since then...hope that helps...
