1998 Zetec 2.0 from Mondeo onto 1990 Sierra MT75 gearbox

Hi all, I'm currently updating my Luego Velocity and planning to fit a 2.0 Zetec blacktop engine from a 1998 Mondeo onto the existing gearbox, which is a 1990 Sierra MT75. I've been doing quite a bit of research on the web and understand that this is a common mod. I understand that the starter motor fits on the exhaust side on the MT75 bell housing, but can't understand how it will fit with the Zetec engine - do I have to modify (ie cut) the sump/lower crank casting on the engine to make it fit? Sorry if I sound a bit thick, but my background is motorcycle building and this is my first foray into a major car overhaul. Cheers, Pete.
